The businessman and founder of the Nabeiro-Delta Cafés group, Commander Rui Nabeiro, passed away on 19 March 2023.
The Commander was a renowned philanthropist and was also a friend and benefactor of the Portuguese Association of Otoneurology (APO). We would like to recall that, through his kindness and generosity, he sponsored the Winter Meeting held on 18 February 2017 at the Coffee Science Centre (Campo Maior), which focused on the topic of “Positional Vertigo”.
The APO mourns the loss of this distinguished figure, who had the foresight to engage with the Portuguese otoneurology community to organise a scientific event, driven by a desire to do good and share knowledge.
On that occasion, we also had the honour of paying him a heartfelt tribute of gratitude, captured in various photographs, such as the one illustrating this article, in which the Commander is pictured alongside the then President of the APO, Dr Conceição Monteiro.
