Balance platforms, particularly mobile ones, are essential pieces of equipment for the study of balance and posture – that is, the phenomena that enable and regulate orthostatic postural tone. There are various models of mobile platforms on the market, which differ mainly in the tests they enable, in whether the movements of the surface on which the patient stands are passive or computer-controlled, and in the parameters they provide; however, within the field of Vestibular Rehabilitation (VR), the results they enable are similar. This article will focus on the STATITEST™ Multi-Segment Passive Moving Platformsegment passive mobile platform, STATITEST™, as an example of the use of data provided by dynamic platforms in selecting the intervention strategy for platform re-education, as well as its use in each of the tests/exercises that the STATITEST™ enables.
