Myogenic evoked potentials or otolithic potentials (OP) are a new method for investigating the sacculo-collicular pathways.
Historically, they were first described in 1958 by Geisler et al, in 1964 by Bickford and Cody, and subsequently in 1994 by Colebatch and Halmagyi. These authors proposed this test as a method for the clinical investigation of sacular function in humans.
