It is with renewed enthusiasm that we present the
APO’s fourth newsletter
, whilst remaining committed to promoting the sharing of knowledge and fostering closer ties amongst all professionals.
In this issue, we highlight
two articles of the month that are particularly relevant to clinical practice
. The first paper discusses corticosteroid therapy for sudden deafness and the use of different doses for the treatment of deafness. The second focuses on the role of vHIT and caloric tests, comparing their results in Ménière’s disease versus vestibular migraine.
The main focus of this
newsletter
it is, however,
our Annual Meeting, which will focus on bilateral vestibulopathy
. This is a challenging clinical condition, which is often underdiagnosed, and which has a profound impact on gait, postural stability, vision during movement and quality of life.
The choice of this topic reflects the need to explore concepts in greater depth, standardise diagnostic approaches and discuss new therapeutic perspectives in a field that is clearly evolving.
We will be delighted to have the
the presence of distinguished international guests, including Angélica Pérez Fornos and Raymond Van de Berg
. Your participation will enable us to discuss
highly topical issues
, such as the
biomarkers of bilateral vestibulopathy
and the
the development of vestibular implants
, areas that could transform the way we diagnose, stratify and rehabilitate these patients in the future.
This meeting is intended to provide a forum for dialogue between different fields of knowledge, bridging the gap between translational research and clinical practice, and fostering an open discussion on the challenges that still limit the care provided to patients with bilateral vestibular deficit.
We’ll round off this edition with a mention of the
course on the analysis and interpretation of a VNG plot
, a training opportunity specifically designed to consolidate practical skills in interpreting oculographic records and applying them to clinical otoneurological reasoning.
We look forward to seeing you every day
