Pedro Tomé
Chair of the APO General Assembly

“Article 1 – Elections shall be held every three years”

Dear Members:

This is the first provision of the electoral regulations.
The one that brings hope and vitality to associations.

Let’s bring in fresh blood, choose different people, introduce new ideas, and carry on with what we’ve been doing whilst improving our results.

On 24 May, we will hold the APO General Meeting during the Annual Congress, as previously announced.

You will receive, as stipulated in the electoral regulations, the notice convening the Electoral Assembly, which will take place on that same day. This is important because, once the Electoral Assembly has been scheduled, Members have a minimum period of 15 days to submit their lists of candidates. These lists must be in the possession of the Chair of the General Assembly (in this case, myself) by the 35th day prior to the Election.

To sum up:

  • The Electoral Assembly will take place on 24 May.
  • Elections to be called by 4 April.
  • The deadline for applications is 19 April.

Please give some thought to the Association’s future, discuss the best course of action, consider new strategies and initiatives, and select the best candidates who are willing to take on the role.

In May we’re going to give it a fresh look. Let’s get on with it.
If things were fine, let’s make them even better; if we didn’t like them very much, let’s do better; if we didn’t like them at all, let’s put forward some alternatives.
