At the Otoneurology Department of the Ni\u00f1o Jes\u00fas Clinic, 100 cases of vertigo syndrome were investigated using a computerised vectonystagmograph, a Neurograff Electromedicina Frenzel video system and an air otocalorimeter.<\/p>\n
Of the 100 patients studied, 51 were female and 49 were male, aged between 6 and 90 years.<\/p>\n
The diagnoses identified for this condition were: Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo 38%, Vestibular Migraine 14%, Cervical Vascular Syndrome 13%, Vestibular Neuritis 10%, Ototoxicity 6%, Metabolic Syndrome 5%, Psychosomatic Syndrome 4%, Bilateral Peripheral Vestibular Deficiency Syndrome 2%, Central Vestibular Syndrome 2%, M\u00e9ni\u00e8re\u2019s Syndrome 2%, Bacterial Labyrinthitis 2%, Congenital Nystagmus 1%, Otosclerosis 1%. We can see that the conditions with the highest prevalence were Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, Vestibular Migraine, Cervical Vascular Syndrome and Vestibular Neuritis, which were the most commonly found among the 100 cases.<\/p>\n
We note that the study using computerised vectonystagmography and Frenzel lenses provides greater reliability and a more accurate picture of the calculations.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
